I was on the maybe list, but I'm going to pass this year. I went up to Bald Eagle State Forest this past weekend and hit the dual-sport trails there. I didn't do any of the single track and the rocks on the "drive-able trails" get old on the big bike. I feel like since I'd be skipping the ...

I doubt, given your admitted level of experience, you would have any fun doing it. Working on it...found out on Friday I need to stay away from mud. Flyer doesn't say anything about it but is there a tire requirement? Would it be possible to do this with a R1200GS with 50/50 tires (Mitas E-07 Dakar)?
