Re: WTB: Yamaha TTR125LE (big-wheel, e-start)

Cool. It seems to get good reviews by the people that have them. The haters all seem to come from the big Harley/Buell crowd. They typ don't like the 883 sportster either.

Re: WTB: Yamaha TTR125LE (big-wheel, e-start)

Any of the recent 300cc sport bikes would work. Not really. One of the new rider coworkers has a CB300F. She can barely put the tips of her toes down. She's gone and sat on that whole crop of sporty/sportbikes at Ellicott City Motorsports recently. The Ninja 400 is a little better than the rest. We...

Re: WTB: Yamaha TTR125LE (big-wheel, e-start)

Yeah, the TTR actually came w/ a MD title so it could easily be put on the road w/ a light kit :lol2: Probably no crazier/worse than riding a Grom.

Re: Clake on "sale" (AUD vs USD)

I worked on bikes the whole day yesterday (see TTR125 thread). Got the Clake installed and bled on the 500. Had to reverse flush the lines as there is no way to get the slaves above the level of the master. Wasn't too hard once I watched the bleeding videos (there is a little bleed screw up at the m...

Re: WTB: Yamaha TTR125LE (big-wheel, e-start)

I did find one. '03 LE. I probably paid a little too much for it in non-running condition but its hard to haggle w/ a sincere sounding 15yo who had his mom waiting quietly in the car to count the money. Took it to the office yesterday to work on it (more on that in a moment.) It really didn't need m...

I can't turn that offer down. Will take it. What sort of beer do you like? :freakey: Have to give you something for it.

Edit: opps, didn't see there was a response on the 2nd page by davej

Re: WTB: Yamaha TTR125LE (big-wheel, e-start)

Huge thanks for the generous offer but I may have found one. I wasn't aware of the 140L. More cc and dual discs beat the TTR for sure. Looks to be only 10# heavier which isn't bad. It's a tough pill going from a 160# XR100 to a 200# TTR125LE just to get electric statrt. All the 150s seemed t...

Re: 1090 adventure

Sonny, I rememebr you being "short statured" but I forgot you lowered your 501 and other bikes would need the same. Why look at even taller more expensive R version if you just have to lower it back down even further? The base Adventure is similar price as T7. It would likely be more expensive lower...

Re: 1090 adventure

10/4 on the Tenere.. been looking hard at the KTM 790 for the past year but having second thoughts now. Thats a good looking Tenere. What are your seconds thoughts? I see the appeal of the Tenere at a lower cost. But a quick looks says they are both ~$10k (cycletrader). Is that not correct? I would...
