Re: Lithium batteries
I would think if you had a battery with a built in BMS like the Antigravity we have been talking about does, it wouldn't matter what the charging source was. A "dumb" battery like the Shorai that have a balance port on the other hand would seem to want a dedicated charger. As long as you d...

Re: Lithium batteries
holy shit, look at that. Did you get it from Amazon? Well its been a $500 education so far for me. Picked up a multimeter and stoked about learning how to use it. New regulator, still 12.9 volts at idle. New oem stator still 12.9 volts at idle. Bought a $35 printed service manual from Ebay so I act...

Re: What did you work on today?
Engine swap stuff seems to be just about done. Now to fix some other issues on this truck. I SPECIFICALLY asked the seller if there was any rust to be concerned about. Oh no its good, here are some pics that don't show the drivers side that well. Yea... https://photos.smugmug.com/Frontier/i-GhRqP7c/...

Re: What did you work on today?
Fan controller came in so set to getting that installed. When you do the VK swap, you have this nipple left over that is unused. All the build threads I've seen has just put a cap on this. Having had a cap fail in my Jeep while wheeling way back in the day I'm not a fan of them. So for today's Joe w...

Lithium batteries
What's good these days? The 5 year old Shorai LFX14 in my Beta crapped out yesterday while doing trail work (glad to have that kicker still). I've had good luck with Antigravity jump packs, their 8 cell non restart battery is about $160 though. Tusk has a lithium battery now I see for under a hundo....

Re: What did you work on today?
Yes, she has a few miles on her. And they haven't been easy. If this truck had not been a crew cab with a long bed I would probably have passed once I saw it in person. It is definitely rough around the edges. The good news is the donor truck for this swap only had 123k. I plan to steal all the susp...
