I hate fairings and plastic
My head light went out on my Kawasaki Concours. After checking the fuse I assume/hope its just a bulb. This being my first bike w/ a fairing or plastic of any kind, I was a little daunted, but assumed I could get to the headlight somewhere behind all that stuff. I removed the lower fairings and star...

FRACKEN NAZI SPEEDCAMERAS!!!!!!!!!!!
Took a different route home from work today and hit a fracken speed camera on 28 b/tw the courthouses and 270. Just about did a rolling stoppie across the line trying to brake in time but the camera flashed. If I'm really lucky the mud on my plate will obscure it enough that they wont be able to mak...

Re: what are your previously owned bikes
Starting in 1999 83 Yamaha Virago 500 (would love to ride one of these again, it seemed awesome at the time, or maybe a 920) 92 Yamaha Virago 750 96 BMW R1100R 22,000 miles in 9 monthes and them sold it, (really stupid) 99 Suzuki DR350 bought to learn to ride dirt, but also commuted on it (beginning...

Re: Which bike if you could only have one? The perfect fleet?
I don't know how many endless hours I've pondered which bikes I'd like to have... Peter Egan's article says 5 bikes. 1. Sport bike 2. SportTouring 3. some sort of cruiser type bike, (can't remember his exact phrase) 4. Dirt bike 5. an "old crock", vintage bike Peter Eagan's categories aren...

Re: Local wheel builders?
I know Fredericktown Yamaha will do wheel lacing. I can't remember what they charged, but East Coast Wheels was a lot cheaper, but they sort of take forever.

Re: Which bike if you could only have one? The perfect fleet?
If only one bike. Thats sort of what my DR was for a while. Sort of good, cheap, reliable all arounder w/ 2 wheelsets. The new KTM 690 smc/enduro looks pretty sweet. That would be a possibility. Three bikes. Still take the DR650 (w/ mods) or the 690smc. Would like a nice sporttouring type bike, BMW ...

Re: Gambrills State Forest Ride
When going down Gambril Park rd, I usually take a right on Hamburg Rd. Its a couple miles Deleture (spelling?), and then a right off that road gets you into the dirtroads.

The heated grips would definently be sweet. (I'm not joking. If I wasn't so lazy, my DR would have them.)
