Re: Camping WolfDen Run

I'm pretty sure it's legal to ride back and forth in to Kitzmiller. It's a sleepy little place but there is a nice local's place for lunch and I'm told they don't mind dirt bike folks wandering in.

Re: Tuk for muktuk

I thought about getting a selfie sitting at a Starbucks so as not to disappoint those that think us GS guys only know how to do that. Who knew that crossing all those fly-over states there'd be no Starbucks anywhere. I couldn't even find one in Calgary.

Re: Camping WolfDen Run

Phil, did you guys ride in to Kitzmiller? Gracie thought that was pretty cool to ride her dirt bike in to town there.

Re: Tuk for muktuk

Phase 1 of the adventure is done. I arrived back home today on the red eye flight from Calgary. 2,900 miles in a week and never spent more than an hour all week on the interstate. We had a damp/cool day or two and a stinking hot day or two but the weather was mostly just fine the whole way. Along th...

Re: Crusty Demons of Dirt

Im not sure if Im a total pussy or just into dirtbiking too late in life. I feel all those guys are crazy. I think most of those guys have spent a lot of time in the ER with broken bones and internal injuries. You don't get that good otherwise. NOT doing this is a measure of a sane mind. :nono:

Re: Tuk for muktuk

Pretty cool. Our friend Austin went there last year after we dropped him off at the canadian border at the end of the NEBDR. It was quite the adventure. Several bear encounters (one close enough to damage some bodywork at speed.) Yikes!! We'll pick up some bear spray heads up in to the Yukon. Would...

Tuk for muktuk

A thing on my bucket list since 2017 has been to ride up and camp on the shore of the Arctic Ocean in Tuktoyaktuk. Before 2017 they only way to get there was on an ice road in the winter (or fly in). Canada undertook a major construction effort to extend the Dempster Highway up beyond Inuvik making ...

Re: Beta enters the EV bike scene

Hopefully they'll use better plastic than the rest of their bikes! Not a bad looking bike, but it does seem a bit heavy- If it's anything like my EVO 200 that I abused for a year or so it'll be a really durable well made bike. Hopefully in hitting a competitive price point they didn't cheap out on ...

Re: Beta enters the EV bike scene

Having a reverse on it seems like a brilliant thing to do on an electric assuming they just reverse the direction of the motor and it doesn't involve any gearing complexity. There's been many times in rocky terrain where I wanted to back up a few feet and try again where tugging on it was hard. 18&q...
