Re: Change of focus??

Market appears to be going soft. Looks like a lot of good deals to be had recently. If the economy goes further south prices will go down farther.

Re: Stark VARG

My expected date online is now Nov 15. Not sure I accidentally initially read that as Sept 15 before or they changed it again? Anyway, the wait continues...

Re: Eldersburg dirt bike

If you park in the Edinburg gap lot you have access to both trails. Cross the road and take the Peter's Mill trail 433 all the way to the end and back. IIRC, its about 10mi each way. If that works out well and you're up for more, take some of the ATV routes on the Taskers side. FWIW, you have to get...

Re: Eldersburg dirt bike

Welcome aboard. Unfortunately there is nowhere to ride dirt anywhere near central MD. Mountain Ridge in PA is VERY accommodating for beginners. I've never been out to Saint Johns Rock / Greenridge(?) out in western MD but they don't look too tough. Peters Mill Run in VA isn't too difficult as an out...

Re: Stark VARG

Tucker finally did his range tests: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o7EO8pyST40 Got 34mi in fast trail/enduro mode (hey, my estimate was pretty close!). 40hp, 50% regen. Says thats about 10% farther than the Alta MXR. About 18mi / 1hour w/ pros on MX tracks doing track days (but not in an actual rac...

Re: Stark VARG

When Dan and I ride the KTM-Es together, its pretty cool what you can hear. Controlling traction of the rear wheel using the LHRB is huge since you can hear it skid. Can even talk to one another if there isn't a gasser too close. Sneak up on more wildlife too. Downside is that you have to honk at pe...

Re: Stark VARG

So they have. They bumped my (missed) 31 Aug date to 15 Sep. I have little faith in the new date either since its already the 12th. :censored:

In other news, Tucker at ECR has an Ultra Bee with an aftermarket battery that runs farther than the Varg.

2023 Shenandoah 500 - Oct 7-8

Looks like I forgot to post about this. Registration for the Shenandoah 500 is open (closes on Sep 14th = SOON!) DS and ADV routes are available. Fingers crossed no hurricanes this year! https://www.eventbrite.com/e/shenandoah-500-s500-dual-sport-2023-oct-7th-8th-registration-695729604977?aff=erelex...

Re: Midweek Emmitsburg, 8/31

GREAT day of riding. It was dry and a bit dusty in places. So dry we all rode a line up the creek I don't think any of us have tried before. The battery I had in my KTM-E was getting low and went into red/limp mode about half way up. Enough power to get back to the van and swap it but the reduced po...

Re: New ULTRA Bee

I figured how to replace the fork seals today. CRF150R 37mm oil and dust seals work! Now trying to figure out how to get the rod out of the fork so I can see the damper and what can be done to improve it. The 21 inch is a nice rim, but it is heavier by a noticeable bit. FWIW, 2.05kg(4.47#) ...
