Yup, a 165 built on a new/left over 13. Got mine done by Walt (of Cafe Husky fame). Valves installed from my 125 cylinder and cut to match the 165 bore. Walt installs and sets up the cylinder and send it's back ready to install. Can't wait to get it installed and broken in. Walt uses Wossner piston...

Really any jap bike from 2001-ish to now is pretty decent. The yamaha yz/wr 250's are pretty reliable. The CRF-r/x tends to not be kind to valves from what I understand. Avoid the 2004-2006 Suzuki rmz-250/kawasaki kx250f like the plague (same bike, just different plastics). They are THE worst modern...

Don't forget to check the valve. Well if he got his '13 stuff bored out he shouldn't have that problem. The old style power valves tapered down and that is where mine broke. The new ones are one diameter all the way to the end (and are a different shape which means they can't be swapped) http://i14...
