Dad/Daughter ride
My daughter and I snuck off for a ride day yesterday. Just a few hours rambling down through some back roads along the Chesapeake for lunch and then back home the long way. No animals were harmed and no performance awards were, uh, awarded. High 70's, low humidity, perfect day. https://photos.smugmu...

Re: fe 250 issues
I sometimes have trouble with my FI WR250R if it's sat all winter. Sea Foam in the tank and running the snot out of it for about 20-30 miles usually clears it. The symptom is usually hesitation off idle and it's never not started. Good luck with it. I'm wondering if the last time it got a good worko...

Re: Michaux Riders
How do you like your R9T riding it like a dual sport? I really like that bike but haven't figured out yet where it fits in my two wheel fun.

Re: France, Nice and Alps
Awesome bucket list stuff Phil!!! You had way better roads to ride than I!
We're going to be in Montone Italy (central/Umbria/edge of Tuscany area) in October for 10 days staying in a villa there. I'm looking forward to finding out what my options are for some motorcycle therapy.

Re: Tuk for muktuk
The day after returning off the Dempster was a down day for us to get our gear and clothes clean, wash the bikes, and spend a little time exploring Dawson. One of my favorite books growing up was Call of the Wild and I was a fan of Jack London's writing so it was a special treat to me to be in the e...

Re: Tuk for muktuk
After we ate and settled up with Grandma, we rode on out to the end of the point with our camping permit in hand (from the useless guy in the visitor's center). When we got out there every established camp site was taken with big RV rigs and those monster Russian all terrain vehicles. We rolled up a...

Re: Tuk for muktuk
We all aired down the tires but not a lot. On the Dempster I ran 30 front, 32 rear. The road was pretty much all loose gravel but it would be pretty predictable for miles and then suddenly I'd be plowing through 4" deep gravel or worse. It made for pretty slow going until I got acclimated to wh...

Kickstands up the next day at 6a and continued on up the Dempster to the next ferry crossing at the Mackenzie River: https://photos.smugmug.com/Road-Hawgs-Epic-Adventures/Tuktoyaktuk/i-j6WF2NZ/0/f63c3cac/L/IMG_2512-L.jpg Inuvik is where most people stop the second night on the Dempster but we got th...

Re: Tuk for muktuk
After dinner and an overnight in the Aurora Inn in Dawson we got kickstands up at 6am (it was never getting dark here) and headed back out top off our gas, fill our armadillo gas bags, and hit the Dempster. https://photos.smugmug.com/Road-Hawgs-Epic-Adventures/Tuktoyaktuk/i-QKjbc6M/0/8599b7df/L/IMG_...

Re: Tuk for muktuk
We knew there was a possibility on this entire trip that wildfires could affect our route but were given a surprise by a Yukon511 electronic sign as we rolled in to Whitehorse - the Dempster was closed until further notice due to the fires. CRAP! https://photos.smugmug.com/Road-Hawgs-Epic-Adventures...
