Racer Al - your idea has already been implemented, complete with a CVT.

I'll edit the video and post it yet tonight. It came from my cheap camera so don't expect too much.

Okay, for the race. Chris and Bucho were in the next to the last lap. Chris' strategy was to get a good start and pass as many as he could before turn one - he did a magnificent job and exited turn one in third. He was in second by the end of the second lap and chasing down the first place bike. It was a 7 lap race and by the 5th lap he was closing tight and then lost his muffler! The hot gases were dumping on the driver's foot and he backed off, got passed on the last lap and they finished 3rd. But I gotta tell you, Bucho looked like a pro!

Jr's driver had problems and they never finished any practice sessions - big issues with wheel bearings. They seemed to be struggling during the race but I could see the smile through Jr's helmet from the fence line!

WAY TO GO GUYS!

That's awesome guys! Saw the pics on fb, really cool! So does this mean we've got two permanent racin' monkeys on the board?

Hey there Ken -- that's cool! How did that bike run?

Congratulations to Bucho & JR!

I suppose I shoulda warned you - that racing stuff is completely addictive, and about as ruinous to your bank balance.

he ran in the back of the back - he says he does better on the shorter, tighter courses. It is a 440 Rotax. Did you notice the pull start?

Those guys are addicts. They did a 13 hour drive down, had 2 - 15 min practice sessions and a 15 min race (45 min on their bikes). They'll do the same today and then drive 13 hours back. Tires for the bikes run $1000 or so and last, what, 4 races? :screwy:

DAMN good thing they aren't closer or I'd have to buy one

This is a picture my two year old managed to take. Patrick and Erin waiting out in the infield for the race to start.

A pic from the race before ours. Not sure what class this is.

Chris Wells and I are in the #121 Grey/White rig. We are chasing down #14, but never quite manage it. #14 takes second place.
Its a neat part of the track, you come out of the carousel (a right hander), into a quick left, and right back into a right. If you look at the monkeys you can see which turn they are in.

The 440 2stroke had a short race on Sunday the engine blew up around lap 5. Definently had the best sounding motor on the track!
I wish I would have gotten a pic of their aux fuel line cooler. It was literaly a bucket of ice.
