Redshift Electric MX and SM bikes

Post by Firebolter »

Pretty cool. Looks like they are getting the weight down to respectable amount (~265). Still pricey though. 200 hour maint cycle. MX model says 2 hour range with a 80mph top speed for recreational trail and/or mixed road use. Long way to go till gas is replaced, but I think in my life time we'll see quality dirtbikes that are electrical powered.

I know Gas Gas has an electric trials bike but don't think I am ready for that yet. I need the scream of the engine to cover over all the cussing I am doing when I biff.

If the electric trials bikes were cheaper I would have one and a bunch of obstacles in my tiny backyard...

You have the OSET but guessing you might look a little silly on that :harhar:

IMHO, electric bikes will be the savior of off-road riding in the east. The #1 complaint is noise and when that is gone, the haters will give in.

I agree. I need the sound of the engine.

That is a very good point I had not thought of.

I find the noise of the engine makes it HARDER for me to concentrate on my riding. Really. I realize that I'm listening to the engine more than figuring what I want to do.
