Thanks for the calendar.

Skinny-J and I did the Sandy Lane Enduro yesterday. I was thinking of doing Curly Fern, but I guess that's next weekend and I don't think I could take that many Southern NJ whoops in such a short time frame. My calves are quite sore today. :boohoo:

I am glad I am not the only one who was sore today. But then again I did not go home and play in an ice hockey game after riding a 75 mile enduro like Phoo did :screwy:

Good ride inspite of that 13 mile section of 3' high whoops; if it had only been 12 miles of continuous whoops I am sure I would feel much better. :salute:

Looking forward to more of the same at the Hammer Run in the fall.... :ride:

Based on early emails from the Sandy Lane Enduro... see below, I'm pretty sure I'm not bothering going to ride in NJ this year or anytime until this gets fixed.

<EMAIL BELOW>
It just wasn't the same, was it? Meteor did the best they could with the scraps left on the menu but, it wasn't what it could have been.

So, if you like "North-South Plow lines" , "unimproved roads", and whatever else the DEP gives us, then do nothing.

If you want our 630+ miles of approved single-track trail, download the attachment and make the calls TODAY.

Even if you didn't ride, call anyway! We need to make them remember who we are and what we want.
PLEASE CALL TODAY - MONDAY - If Possible.

#1 - to Texel's number...609.292.2885
"This weekend, I rode the Sandy Lane Enduro. I want to tell you that the route was totally unenjoyable, and not challenging. Why can't we use the 600 miles of existing trails?"

#2 - to the Governor's office. 609.292.6000
"I am calling to protest the DEP policy that excludes 600 miles of established off-road trails that were placed off limits by a policy that was created with no user input. Please ask the Governor to direct Mr. Trexel not to let his personal bias against motorized recreation dictate the policies that he creates"

Thanks for calling out the additional events, keep em coming
I went ahead and added them to the original post :deal:

Tried to add links and a couple of the flyers, no guarantees but let me know if there's a bad one and I'll try to fix...

Believe me, I understand your frustration and reaction. However, the only thing boycotting NJ events hurts is the clubs who put them on and in the end, us as riders when these events cease to exist because of our boycott. Don't you think this is what the NJ greenies want; for you to get all pissed off and not come? What if this doesn't get "fixed"? Part of me truly believes this is the future of our motorsport, not just in NJ but everywhere. We can fight the fight the best we can but in the end we are going to have to get used to the scraps they give us.

I can tell you first hand that the Meteor Motorcycle Club did an EXCELLENT job of organizing and executing a very fun day in the woods with what they were permitted by NJ. From a smooth sign-up, tons of people at every check, marshals at the turns, even dealing with a guy who went into cardiac arrest and died. IMHO, their efforts need to be applauded and supported not boycotted.

Rant over...
