I'm simply not staying Saturday night since I live so close. I'll be there late, though. I'm contemplating arriving at the earliest check-in time of noon tomorrow.

I'm only an hour away, but figure there will be some decent riding on Sunday too. I'm aiming for Friday around noon, if for nothing other than to bounce around on the trials bike.

How should one dress for this? pressure suit & MX boots too much? just a joe rocket jacket & 10" boots better?

From the looks of the loops, there's a lot of street riding. I'm gonna wear my Motoport Kevlar Air Mesh and a DS helmet.

Re: ADVMoto Rally Sept 26-28
Hey, I had a good time!
Gene, Phoo, Phather of Phoo, and I metup Saturday morning. When we saw the massive cluster of people waiting to go on the Klim ride, we decided to do the 190 miler big bike loop. It had a nice mix of pavement, gravel, and dirt roads and we explored a dirt road that wasn't on the route too. One stream crossing, one log obstacle, and several hours later, we made it back to camp in time to dust ourselves off, get out of riding gear, and eat dinner. A couple hours later, the Klim cluster returned and ate and then the evening progressed with some guy talking about going on a long ADV type trip abroad that those of us with families and real jobs could never do. Afterwards, the goody giveaway. Gene won some tank bag, I won a Touratech dry bag, Phather of Phoo won something similar, and I left before the drawings were over so I don't know if Phoo won anything neat too.
This event had a few minor first year issues like running out of breakfast, not getting the GPX files emailed out until after I arrived at the event, being a bit disorganized, etc., but otherwise it was a great event. The route we did was fantastic for a big ADV type bike and I got a lot more confident riding the pig KLR650. I talked with the guys at Klim, Vee Rubber, and DSA for a while and learned a lot from them. I'm 99% certain that DSA is getting my business very soon for shocks on both bikes and Vee Rubber makes a skinny DOT knobby that fits my KLR250 rear wheel (4.60x17) that I'm going to look around for.
Lots of nice people at the event and the weather was beautiful. I may have gotten very drunk Friday night around the fire, but the hangover wasn't too terrible Saturday morning. I'll be back next year.
