Quite possible we'll do the same, honestly. It depends on how many miles we do and if there's a band after dinner.

I'm trying for kitchen pass, also might have an issue with a weird clinking noise on top of the ol 600, might just be the auto-decompresser, but want to make sure, so I don't get stranded. I can cruise about 55 mph ok but after that engine is revving pretty good. Do you think the routes will be faster than that in sections? (I did increase countershaft sprocket to a 15 tooth)

Carl Parker said that the routes are all GPS-able.

I don't know if there will be any sections over 55 mph. I would imagine that would be a safe top speed guesstimate, however.

I'm heading over Friday afternoon I guess. I'll camp over night just to hang out and head out Saturday evening after the BBQ. I don't live far away so I can basically leave whenever.

Oh yeah, Gene is coming to this as well. He's just not posting on the forum about it.

Check your oil pump. Mine went bad on an XR 600 that I had, and it wore out the cam and the rocker arms.

OK, I'll crack open the top banjo bolt on head & look for flow. but it's not real consistent, like a dry top end, but almost like something is loose, & getting jammed once in a while. BTW I got the kitchen pass! :loveit:

Also I see something about signing AMA waiver, but do I need to be an AMA member?
& do I need to register ASAP? Don't want to prepay too early, if my engine is questionable. Hopefully I know something by tonight. Should I call someone & explain, to get a reservation?

AMA membership not required. You just need to sign a waiver.

Carl said as of right now, only 66 are signed up so there's plenty of room left if you want to wait a few days. He turned on the feature on the website again that lets you know how many spots are left.

I'll probably join in the festivities. After chunking up my rear tire at Taskers on Saturday, what's a few ADV miles. Just need to change oil and get the 14T CS sprocket mounted and fresh oil in my 350. I'll bring the Sherco too, I know the Cove has plenty of rocks to play on.
