I'll be there around 0900 and will be flogging Bucho's 300. I'm cutting no slack for anyone dumb enough to be in front of me :salute:

I had a good, but short, day. It took quite a while to get used to Bucho's 300 2-smoke. I'm not sure I'll be a 2-smoke convert.

btw Bucho - that chain is long past being worn-out :screwy:

I'll put my old chain from the P3 on it. That chain is pretty new and I'm switching to a 530 chain on the new motor.

What is it about 2 strokes you don't like? The power? Light weight?

You can adjust the power delivery of a 2 stroke a whole bunch. I did FWW, retarded ignition, throttle tamer, woods pipe, rekluse, etc to initially make the switch from a klx300 to a kx250. Now that I'm used to the bike I've been undoing those changes whenever I can overcome my laziness. ;)

I could be wrong, but I think Phils' riding style may differ a bit from Ken's :whoop:

power delivery is not smooth like a 4-stroke. Yes, I finally got the hang of slipping the clutch to take the snap out. Without doing that the power came on like a toggle switch.

My 349 Montesa is a 2-smoke and the power there is very predictable.

As a recreational rider, I think a KTM 350EXC is likely to be in my future.

Its all relative. I remember thinking how crazy the power band was when I first got the 300. After I got used to it I rode a MX YZ250. Now that has a powerband.
The KTM300 is very mild is comparison.

I had a great time. The shear hospitality extended by the group was great. The trails and rising awesome. I can't say thank you enough to Granville and his merry band of riders.
My daughter took her four wheeler and really enjoyed it. She got a little scared on the long hill climb when her machine bottomed out and was stuck. She turned it around and went back down sliding the rear all the way.
Next time we are gonna camp.

THANK YOU GRANVILLE AND YOUR CLAN!!!!!!!!!
