I hope to be able to assemble the rear axle and chain adjuster when I get home (hopefully) tomorrow. If I can't (possible stripped threads?), I won't be able to ride. I'll know more tomorrow and will keep you informed.
KTM? The aluminum nut is the likely culprit, get two, and an extra axle block. Carry the extra nut and block with you on the trail. If you don't thank me, then someone else will. (As in, it will be used sooner or later.) Unless you're OFG, that's a ride ender right there. Shouldn't be too hard to find one at a local shop, if you have time.

Oh, and the factory torque spec (59lbft) is way too high. 35lbft is what I usually go with.

The nut didn't fall off, but rather the other side where the axle threads into the chain adjuster. I'm not sure if that stripped out or not.

I will pick up an extra nut and adjuster block, though. I earned another RMATV $50 gift card this week.

In a pinch, you can thread the nut on the other side of the axle, if you have the normal axle block.

No biggie if I don't ride so don't feel pressed if you can't get it working.

Has Sam been sharing stories of his mechanical prowess with you? I assume this is what you are referring to:

This was Taylor Park in Colorado 2 years ago when Sam "Lost" his axle nut. He was cool as a cucumber and whipped up this fix in about 5 minutes:

Earlier in the trip there had also been some "fine" tuning of the clutch:

He gotr done tho, here he is tackling a log on a pretty steep downhill on the back side of Block and Tackle:

Here he is tackling a pretty good up-hill; he is in the picture its just such a big hill and the perspective since its Colorado.Image
Of course there are plenty of "hills" in Colorado, here is a little one we found called Pearl Pass:

In case you can't make out the sign, it says "Elevation: 12,705 feet"

Sorry for the thread hijack....

I'm not positive that that's the only time that has happened.

Boom Boom, Idaho, as in tour of?
That's definitely on my list!
Just got back from CO on Sunday, but all I did was work. Shipping my gear out next time, and I'll buy a bike, if I have too.
