Great day riding at Granvilles. There were just a few stragglers on Sunday morning when I showed up with my pal Andrew. But I still got the mornings first lap with Granville himself leading the way. I was rocking the big 650 so I brought up the rear but I managed to do everything.

Then everyone packed up and the left the whole place to me and Andrew. We did a few more laps and since nobody was there, we decided to run the loop backwards. Made for a few interesting hill climbs.

Glad you and Andrew made it. Sunday was a beautiful day. We were pretty much kaput Sunday morning. Riding it backwards is a hoot. Did that with Spaceghost last time.

Another awesome weekend at Casa Granville!!! Some of the best conditions I have ever seen there, in spite of the sleet/snow.... A great BIG thank you to Jim and the rest of the Ratino's, especially to the Mrs. for the quiche!

Why don't you guys stand up when you ride?

I assume you are asking me? (About the two vids I posted)

Probably some of it is laziness. Im not really a racer and dont really feel the need to ride any faster than I already do. I guess my riding style is more "stand when I need to".
Though its funny you bring it up. I find that riding my DR650 in the rougher stuff I HAVE to stand much more than riding my 300 smoker.

But the clip of me riding up the hill. Its very smooth. I dont see how standing would make that any easier/better.

In regards to standing..I try to stand most of the time..until I get tired. But there are times when I feel like I have a bit more control (long, steep uphills that aren't too rough). I've also noticed that I get passed by a lot of fast guys doing enduro's and hare scrambles, that are sitting down. Also, BigBird never stands!

Wasn't criticizing just curious. Been told from day one to stand most of the time.
