I'll chime in though I am new to dualsport. I recently got an 07 ktm 525 exc. With a seat and tank you will have the comfort and range for dualsport and there is no 650 that will run away from it on the highway; yet it will be more capable off-road than those bikes as well. The newer versions are the 530 and 500 which are a bit more refined. The big issue with what I call lightweight dualsport (as opposed to adventure bikes) is the lack of wind screen for highway speeds.

The KTM 690 Enduro was nice. But 10K ouch.
What is a good used dual sport to buy.

Yup! I love mine! Of all the bikes I own it'd be the last one I'd get rid of.dirtygrunt wrote:DRZ 400. Nuff said.2way2wheels wrote:Forgot to mention, stopped by Ride On Moto. Thinking about getting a dual sport.

Jim,
You are a pretty big guy so IMHO you would match well with a 650. And I happen to know a guy (still) with a 2006 DR 650 that could probably be bought for $2.5K....

I agree, great bike. I got the Honda because they were priced right & also can do it all.dirtygrunt wrote:

I mentioned the exc over the ktm 690. On my wish list, but I'm not likely to get one anytime soon.

hey 2 way, sent you a PM..things seem to be a bit funky with the message sending so not sure if you got it.
Just wanted to mention I'm not a very big fan of Ride-on, but if you were in the market for a new bike, the shop down in Waynesboro is top notch (though far).
I'm also trying to offload my 2014 Husqvarna 501, but I'm struggling since two blue bikes on my back deck looks so nice these days.

Hi rurumoster
I am a n00b but, I looked for PM and I don't see it? I work and don't get on forum everyday.
Ride On was close after the first Moto Cove visit.
And they were open.
I hope to get a chance to ride some on/off bikes, so I make a good choice.
