HM: hot as F. :knary: :No pics as you can't see through the dust. Need to relabel this ride as the Kentucky Dust Bowl Trail.

Side of the road, working on a bike...

Last two days have been great, but LONG. Dusty first day in some spots. But rain first night and a little next morning has kept dust down. Today is the Daniel Boone National Forest. Will be a big offroad day! (Once we get going)

I have some great video’s of some
Seriously deep water crossings, huge trees across the trail with no way around and DEEP ass mud holes. Will post up when we get home. But after that rain storm yesterday, when Wingbreaker’s bike got started and he got to the hotel with Jr and Paul, the other 6 of us went to the option and man, that rain storm made for a long after noon. We dropped in at 1630 and got out of the woods at
2000. We certainly earned our dinner last night! Weather looks better today but the crossings will be up. One was so deep, if not for a suspension bridge adjacent to the crossing, we would have been screwed. Riding backwards to get out would have sucked!
Lots of cool bikes---

The suspension bridge was for people so we had to carry each bike up 4-5 stairs onto the bridge then have one guy in front and 1 on the side walk them across. A third guy out in front to “push” the bridge apart so the bars would clear the vertical stringers. The fourth guy was an anchor for the other side to help hold the bike as the stairs down were steep and slippery AF. The euro bikes were tall enough so that the bars were just above the wooden railings. The DR and XL bars heights were between the railings making the need to “spread” the bridge railing even more so a necessity. Once to the other side, then down 7 steep slippery stairs and then a 1 foot drop off the concrete pad to the dirt. Took about 10-15 min per bike
X 6. The water crossing was way up and flowing fast. Probably 40-50 feet wide but the water was so high, the out on the bank was under water. 10 feet in it was 2 feet deep, so the middle could have easily been 4+ feet deep and it was flowing fast. To ride backwards, we would have to have ridden back up a long, loose rocky, wet uphill and that would have been a real bitch. Thank god for the suspension bridge!
