A few of us did part of this a few years ago. It fell apart due to weather! I`m game to try it again. Mid September?
Junior I have a RnineT TKC 80s, 8" clearance under skid plate. Will it make it thru that stuff? since you've run it already. Seems the videos Ive seen, they layed it out for big bike friendly, with optional tougher lanes.
Its more about the rider then the bike. Ken did it on a Yamaha m09 something? It looked more like a street bike what ever it was!? One of the other guys was a on a tenere. You shouldn`t have any problem with your bike. I`ll likely use my DR 650? It`s the most fun! But I do have a tenere as well. so either or. There is also a fairly good facebook group for the MABDR.

I hear you thanks, Ive been watching this guys videos of all the sections. Probably one of the guys on that group you're talking about. Main routes seems doable. Ive ridden Harley dressers on similar hardpack roads like that without too much drama, so pretty excited about bringing the BMW. Much lighter with grippier tires.

Only 9-3/4" clearance on the 1090, but it should take the MA BDR just fine.

ive done the mabdr on a 500 ktm. but would love to use my twin cylinder street bike. the mabdr is good for heavy bikes.
Ill be watching this thread. I think its a lot easier to ride at pace during no leaves on trees. You can see a lot more better

Harold had two leftover '18's sitting around until the end of August when one went home with me. I figured for under $12k, it was almost silly not to get one. It ticked all of the boxes for me except not having cruise. MC Cruise sold me a kit that I installed in a couple hours so now it has cruise. The factory seat is about right for me to touch the ground comfortably enough, but it's not comfortable. I bought a two-piece Powerparts Ergo seat that is far more comfortable, but about an inch taller so I tippy-toe the bike with that seat. I'd use the stock seat to off-road and the Ergo seat the rest of the time. I really should get the factory seat remade by Renazco or something.

yes, that's about the time I was there to pick up my 501 early September last year. He had that '18 sitting there. He was bent not being allocated any 790s which I was cross shopping with 701 husky. Ended up with the 501 which Im happy. Still like those KTM adventure bikes, always liked the 2013 KTM 990 baja Adventure in white

So based on what all of ya'll are saying, the MABDR would be perfect on the Ducati 800 Desert Sled! I'm in. Sep looks to be a good time for temps and weather! I rode SS500 this year on the 800 and did the A section, it was a bit tough due to the tires, but the bike itself was awesome on the trail.
Lots of cool bikes---
