I cleaned out all the wood varnish from the carb and petcock. I got the motor to fire up.
Mostly waiting on a new airfilter to put it all back together and take it for a ride.

Very cool. Is the windshield as big as it seems in the pic?

The woman has kicked me out of the side garage and it is slowing being turned in to something usable besides storage. There used to be a roll up garage door but it had been filled in and had a standard door when my dad bought the place and he had built this wide door for it at some point.

Had a contractor scheduled to come out Thursday to put a proper double door back in, oh its going to rain, we'll be back tomorrow. No showed on Friday. Eventually answered the phone and said we might come by Monday. Nope, hit f_ck it and started tearing shit out myself.

Just need to fix the drywall and trim out the inside, so probably another 6 months till that's done

Yesterday was the 4 year anniversary of my dad passing so figured what better project than to fix his fucked up door :killingme:

I got this old scooter running. Everything works except the speedometer. It feels pretty fast (for a scooter), but Im not sure exactly how much…

I do have all the bodywork. Just went on test ride slightly naked.

Pretty fun. I believe the owner wants to sell. Let me know if anyone might be interested.

Slap some knobbies on it and adventurize it! Honda sells an adventure scooter now called the ADV150. I wouldn't be embarrassed to ride one, either.

I used it to run some errands today. I really liked it. Was fun.
But I cant justify the money for it. Unless the owner wants to give me some sort of special deal.

Got the pod air filter fitted to the TTR150 (I don't have the factory airbox for that one.). I still don't like the way it seals. Maybe a narrower band clamp would work better.

Put a leaner pilot jet in the 250XCF. I can hot kick start it now. :loveit: But it killed the battery sitting for a few weeks. WTF is up with that?

Kiddo's stock Surron tire was loading up with mud at Eagle Bay so I put a tiny K760 on for him. That should keep him moving in the ugly stuff.

Some parts for the Freeride E-XC are non-existent. Like an aftermarket skid plate. I'd like to protect the little bit of motor that sicks out the right side and the plastic water pump housing on the left side if I can. The E-XC sort of had has an aluminum skid plate (the motor is a stressed member so I don't think its really needed as a 'downtube' for stiffness) but I've become a big fan of the AXP HDPE plastic skid plates as they slide over stuff so well. Plus the oem aluminum would be beat up in a hurry over rocks. So what to do?

Buy some material and get to work! Using CAD (Cardboard Aided Design)
PXL_20210905_183607617_r640.jpg
Layout and cutting the prototype
PXL_20210906_014549762_r640.jpg
Trial fit on the bike. The front 'wings' will get trimmed back.
PXL_20210906_225105238_r640.jpg
That last pic shows how narrow the bike is. About 4" wide down there - not much more than the palm of my hand. A bit of the stator sticks out on the right side (as seen when sitting on it) but its so narrow there is about as 2" gap on each side out to the pegs.
