Post by Rut Row »

Patent Pending - The DAMN Truck Tent Frame!

Everything, including tensioners, is made from 1/2" PVC pipe - all for under $20! :loveit:

Am I cheap or what!

there is even a place to hang a lantern too.

Bucho is field testing the prototype this weekend. More to come.

I was inspired by your truck/tarp setup. I've found a source for bulk bungee and will make my own shock cord for the tarp, plus bungee ties for the pile of PVC.

I'll try to put up a few pictures soon. I thought it worked pretty well. Though I need a new tarp. My old one has too many holes in it.

This was campsite 12 at Greenridge. Was pretty nice and set back from the road, nice and private. The pups could run around and there was plenty of room for multiple trucks and tents.

Looks pretty good, nice piece of engineering. But, where's the bike?

Here's a close-up of the top brackets.

and a good use for punctured inner tubes - I cut a 1/2" wide strip to band the pipe together.

Now to save up for a decent sized tarp.
