Test Fit the luggage for the KAT! All fits great. I have had that tank bag and tube pack for a few years now! Wolfman is Good Stuff! I like the way the giant loop bags fit too. Close to the bike and leaves plenty of room to move around. 1 fuel bottle attached to the tail bag and all the rain gear in that tail bag.
Also installed the new rims with D606's and HD tubes! Ready to go. That 606 rear is a monster! Now I just gotta prep the 300 for HM trails!

Finished up the 300 for HM this morning. Fresh filter and filter skin, fresh oil, chain cleaned adjusted and lubed, coolant checked,. GPS on and has all the HM maps loaded. Ready to load and go! Now all that is left is oil change and chain lube on the 500 and she is ready to load!

^ That reminds me i have to work on the 150 to get it ready for HM.

But I spent the day welding, making a flip down bed frame for the van. 78x28.

Pic of the outer frame to make sure it fits. There is 28.5" between the two piecs of L-track. I'm prob going to need to put some plastic stiffeners/bases in my 'cabinets' so they don't sag so much. Have to push them up a little if loaded to swing it against the wall.

Tacked in the cross ribs. The darn torch cooler shut off on me today (motor has issues) and the welds went from being ok to WTF is going on w/ this. :frustrated: Lets the tungsten overheat, ball up, and arc wanders all over w/ no control or penetration:( Once I figured it out, I gave up welding for the day and went and test fit the board and foam.

3/8 ply + cut down 3" foam bed on top. Still need to weld up some double pivot hinges to hold it on the lower L-track. Right now it's just precariously perched on top of the edge.

Should be able to squeeze 2 bikes in there and still sleep in it. The trials bike is in there just out of view on the left.

Working on the 150 a bit this weekend... The starter/battery has been weak ever since I bought it. Have to kick start it every morning. MIGHT e-start if it hasn't been sitting for more than 30 min. Once I put the RK Tek head on it, it would never e-start. Many folks have to go to a 24V system w/ that so it wasn't all that unexpected. The starters are tiny and can go bad too. Wasn't sure which (or both) were bad. Anyway, doing some trouble shooting I decided to roll it up to the van and hook up jumper cables. Whoa! It starts like a hooker on coke. So the battery is bad, not the starter. I moved the new 500 battery over to it and it still works ok (The 500 will get a larger 3.3Ah antigravity battery vs the ~2Ah OEM Skyrich.)

I charged it to 14.4V and it seemed to take charge but I came back this morning and it was back to ~10V. Being the curious guy I am I used a box cutter to carefully take it apart. You can see the balance board in the top of it. It has a comment on the top sticker that you must get it above 14V or the battery will be damaged. I'm guessing that's when the balance board start to work? Hmm, I wonder if the 150 normally charges that high (I'll need to check out the stator & regulator)

I unplugged the balance connector (its RTV'ed in) and tested w/ one of my RC batt testers. Yup, dead cell. Looks like I can reuse the balance board and easily stuff 4x A123 26650 cells in the case for a cheap 2.5Ah, 120A start battery

Did you note the battery chemistry in the EM Battery when you peeked inside it for Ken? How many amps was the current protection? Some of the larger bike lithiums might make good donors for a second EM pack. I believe my pack is just shy of a 40 AH pack. That would be 8 of the YTX20L-BS lithium equivalents. At $150ea or $1200 for the pack is much cheaper than what EM wants for a pack.

FWIW, a 20Ah 'lead acid equivalent' lithium is really only about 10Ah. Since a lithium battery is usable to 100% depth of discharge w/o a huge increase in resistance it only takes about half the lithium battery to roughly equal the starting power of a lead acid. Also, starter replacement batteries are almost always LiFePo4 (or LIFE for short). They are safer, don't need fancy protection circuits, and charge to a different voltage. A LeFe cell is 3.3V nominal for most of its discharge curve and 3.6V peak charge. In a 4S config, that's 13.2V running and 14.4V at peak charge. Pretty close to a lead acid. Lipo cells that are in your EM are 4.2V fully charged and the voltage drops sorta linearly w/ state of charge down to ~3.3V. So a 4S Lipo pack has too high a voltage, and a 3S is too low for a starter batt replacement.

The Antigravity ATZ7 (7Ah lead acid replacement) I just ordered is only 3.3Ah of LiFe.

For your EM, as a 2nd batt you might not need/want to go as big. If you can charge one while riding the other, a lighter 2nd batt is an advantage. Anyway, RC packs like these you could put together a 20Ah 14S for <$600.

I read somewhere the EPure batt is 1.875kWh. That should work out to ~35Ah @ 14S.
