Yeah, I don't want to race but would consider a track day.

A large parking lot with a few cones or tennis ball halves could be fun

Yeah, the old dc-cycles email list used to have parking lot events where one of the guys would setup some different little courses (figure 8, then another with 3 small circles, etc) to play on. That guy was quite a character. He placed in ironbutt events on a ninja 250...

I found a pic of me on my hawk gt from one of the parking lot events. This is from the setup with the 3 small circles.

Cool!

We did this once. I set up some stuff w/ tennis balls halves but only got a few guys to come out. Was fun.

Ah, cool, I'll check it out. Thanks! I hadn't looked up where VIR is before. I didn't realize it was 4.5 hours away...

Are the circles drawn or are those scars from foot pegs?

Heh, this thread is a year old. :jack: The circles are chalk. You had to be leaned over pretty good to scrape the pegs on that bike (the back end was jacked up and I had short pegs on it). I used to ride that bike way too fast in the mountains with rock walls or cliffs to greet me if I screwed up. I scared the crap out of myself once when I leveraged the back wheel several inches off the ground on US250. The guy behind was sure I was going to crash but I somehow managed to stay up. It was after that when I decided to return to dirt bikes and switched my street riding to just mellow commuting. :killingme:
