I got the front rim to the KLR back now with straight spokes. Also got the new speedo hub and a brand spanking new speedo cable. So, what is the collective DAMN wisdom on lubing the speedo cable? I have used graphite powder in the past. Is there something better?

Seriously, I've always used a *very* light coating of waterproof grease. Just smear it all over, liberally, then squeegee it off with your fingers.
