Possibility I may not be making this trip now...Is there anyone interested in going in my spot?

Two Day spot sharing a campsite with Big Bird...(and friends)

Not set in stone yet, but just to be safe, if someone is looking to go, I will give up my spot for the cost that way I know it used for sure.

Just pm me if interested.

I think I saw one of you DAMN guys on a KTM smoker last year. So how was that? I am thinking of giving the LC4 a rest and riding my MXC200. I will have it geared at 15/45 giving it a prayer of cruising 55 for short distances.

But I haven't managed to work out the high speed jetting yet. So it will be a handful droning down the highway with the engine running too rich. Especially on 33 with psycho cagers trying to run over me while the bike tries to make up its mind whether or not to be on the pipe.

I guess what I am asking is did the offroad fun factor get cancelled by the pavement sections and awful seat? I so want to try this bike. But it is an awfully long ride for a high strung little race bike.

Don Kirkpatrick has ridden his 200EXC every year for the last 4 years. If it is geared right, no issues and with 15/45 you should be fine. I ran 14/48 on a 200XC and that was awful above 40mph with the close ratio XC tranny, but the MXC is a little wider (as I recall?), I think and with the 15/45, I think you'll have a blast. The paved sections are not mega long and even then, only the section on 33 has any real "high speed" opportunity. Everything else is a comfortable 40-50 mph on the back roads on the connectors and such. Just stay to the right of the lane if you want to stay off the pipe so cars can easily pass you.

Last year BigBird rode his KTM200 smoker on Saturday and I rode my 300 on Sunday.
I brought the KTM 2-stroke b/c I had just bought it and I was dying to ride it. I had fun w/ it, I was running lower gearing. With the higher gearing you should be fine. I'm gonna bring my big comfy DR650 this year just b/c I have it. If I only had the smoker I would be happy to bring it.

Maybe I will bring both. The Renazco seat on my 640 will probably be calling to me after a day on the 200.

Aren't those the best! I have one on my DR650, well worth the money.
