....WE can have hard core rides, kiddie rides, Boom Boom rides, Rzr rides when poeple want to organize it. I would really like to sick with the DUAL SPORT theme. With a bonus if Ken can get part of the orv open. agin just my .02. Time will tell and no matter what someone will get pissed off.
Just my $.02-
The only thing that has changed at GR is the ORV is closed; and IMHO the ORV was only really just a rough jeep road anyway. It certainly wasn’t a “trail”; and unless we camped right on the ORV you couldn’t “legally” get non-plated bikes and kiddies over to it. However, some of my favorite campouts and “adventures” have been at GR and did NOT involve the ORV (they did involve a few train tresells and also a certain little creek)
I don’t think anyone is saying that we can’t have a big family jamboree at Mountain Ridge or BB’s or Granvilles at some other time; I have got small kids my self that I would love to start bringing. And I LOVE riding the gnarly single track as much or more than the next guy. I just think it would be fun to do some DUAL SPORTING for a change and GR suits that perfectly.
You know, I think back to the 3 original reunions we held at GR and some of the faces that were always there I no longer see at our recent events and I think that may be because some people are not into paying to ride organized DS events with 200 of their closest friends or paying to ride at an ATV park or bashing their brains in on sweat single track. GR would just be an alternative to the stuff we always do through out the rest of the course of a normal year…
I have said my peace; where ever we end up, I will be there and happy to be on 2 wheels….
