Looking for a chain rivet tool to use.

Post by Daves08excr » Sun Mar 22, 2015 3:43 pm

I'm putting a new chain and sprockets on the KLR and the chain I got needs a rivit tool for the master link. Anyone near parkville that has one I can use for a few min to get this done.

Thanks Dave.

If you're willing to make the trek down to laurel you can get their chain tool (which is actually the motion pro) for $29 now:

I have the motion pro tool and want to warn you to be careful with the pressing inserts...they are aluminum and bend very easily! Very. Good news is I called Motion Pro and they said their early tools had softer aluminum nad they sent me new press plates no charge. At least they stand by their products.

Yeah, I've got the motion pro too and it does require a bit more care than you might expect. I broke one of the pins early on. I've since changed bunches of chains through the years without incident.
