Flogging a poor little kx125

Post by gots_a_sol » Mon Aug 08, 2016 8:37 am

The crank went out in my husky 165 a few weeks ago, so I picked up this cheap little kx to torture while the 165 becomes a 177 :D

We went down to hatfield last weekend, here is the hardest thing the little 125 had to do. Lots of throttle and clutch abuse.

I have more video, just haven't gone through it all yet.

My husky engine should be back in my hands at the end of the week thankfully :lol2:

Also big props to Duane in the video. He is a better rider obviously but he is ALWAYS there to help get people up these dumb trails he leads us up.

I started to do a full ride report, but it was just going to be a wall of text since we never stopped for pictures. All bidness in our group :whip: Plus I'm not a great writer, so it would probably be a boring read anyway.

Sounds good to me. I'll get down to Hatfield one of these days.

Bad azz man! That's actually an awesome idea w/ a uber cheap little 125.
I like hatfield. I think our "big 650 dualsport" ride next year will do part of buffalo mtn.

The 125's are a hoot. Maybe not the best for crazy hard crawling up ledges type stuff (although at only a touch over 200 lbs, it is easier to manage), but man on the easier trails, you just let it sing to redline while banging through the gears and feel like you are this amazingly talented rider.

Then find out the brakes don't work nearly as well as the brembos on the husky and plow through some surprisingly deep puddles :lol2:

Yes. He lives for the hardest, most technical stuff that can be found.

We ran buffalo mountain 199 the proper way, but the wr-f I was riding that day hated it requiring many cool down stops (just like the rider). While stopped this nutter would turn around and take runs at some of the impossible stuff. It is on his bucket list to completely do bm199 backwards.
