I promised the grandson last year I'd build him a zipline at the new place. I get asked about it almost every month and since the new house is almost done, I guess I better figure out how to do it.
Has anyone ever built a zipline? I see plenty of kits with lots of YouTube videos but nothing compares to experience.

Are those people supposed to be using a hand break on some of those?

And some of them have sag in them so they start going back uphill at the end to slow you down. Those ones usually end on a flat piece of earth so you're on the ground wherever you wind up stopping.

ya, there companies that sell kits are pretty good about describing how to set one up. I was hoping to find someone who had actually done it before to advise.juddspaintballs wrote: ↑Wed May 16, 2018 7:46 pmAnd some of them have sag in them so they start going back uphill at the end to slow you down. Re: Ziplines
I've ridden a couple well-designed home zip lines, but I couldn't tell you who to get in contact with to design one. The last one I remember was one you held on to only, but you were never more than about 4' off of the ground and it went down the slope of an open field so it wasn't very likely you'd get hurt if you couldn't hold on. Anything of height should use a harness.

Re: Ziplines
There are zipline places in harpers ferry (top of hill on 340), in VA @ 340 and Harpers Ferry Rd, and in MD @ 340 and Valley Rd. Maybe someone in one of places would be willing to help.
