Hammer Run HEAVEN!
Hammer Run HEAVEN!
I’ve run this event every year since I resumed dirt bike riding in 2010 (after a 25+ year gap) and this was easily the Best Ever! The weather was great! The trails were great! 180 miles with ~100 miles of single track with no dust and only a little mud and many new trails that weren’t badly rutted/whooped.
But the BEST part was my riding buddies! I’ve ridden with the lovely and charming Vicki Nielsen every year since 2012 when she was just getting into serious riding. (In 2015 when I was in extreme pain a few days before back surgery she followed me and picked my bike up many times.) There is no better riding buddy than Vicki (and she is now faster than me)!
AND this year we added the lovely Heather Meily to our crew. This is the gal who has ridden MANY events 2-up on her husband N8’s KTM (including RORR, Michaux, Quarry Run, etc.) Last year she started riding her own KLX 140 in the events and has steadily gotten better and better. Saturday AM she was a little slower than me but she kept getting faster and faster and faster and by Sat PM she (on her 11 HP KLX 140) was hanging with Vicki (and pulling away from this OFG)!
Sunday PM we saw a tall slender blonde gal (Jennifer from Buck’s Co. PA) riding alone on her KTM and she joined our group for the rest of the day!
For a 75 year Old Fat Guy – it doesn’t get any better than this!

Re: Hammer Run HEAVEN!
A veritable single track harem!
I hope when I'm 75 I can still ride,
Sam you are my inspiration.

Yup - justifiably so too
I'm almost moved in. Another week and I'll have the old house cleaned out and (I hope) the garage done. If you are around tomorrow come help load lumber and equipment.
I'm hoping to take an hour off next week from moving and run the trials bike around the back yard.

Re: Hammer Run HEAVEN!
@Ken, if I wasn't bouncing up and down the West Coast I'd be there. Like Laoch said, just busting you balls!
F*** work.
Ride motorcycles.

Re: Hammer Run HEAVEN!
I noticed you bid schedules that coincided with my move
I know y'all are busting my arse. I'd do the same! But DAMN do I want to go riding. I'm soooo tired of moving.
