Dave's VA Trials Farm

Wow guys, this was a super fun riding day. More people should take Dave up on his open offer of "slow ride" practice at his place.

He first lent me an electric bike (older Zero FX) and we took a tour of the grounds. Lots of zigzaging trails through the trees. Then we looked at what obstacles he had to work with. I'm the first one to come to his place for "trials practice", so he hadn't done too much. We set up a good sized log and put some smaller/cheater logs around it. (Hey we are beginners!). Took a look at tractor tire he had set up, and another area where he had some rocks.

This big log was a little intimidating at first.

Wasnt too bad with the cheater logs in place. We started taking them away as we got more practice.

This tractor tire was really intimidating. I nailed it every time on my Sherco, but did fail later in the day trying it w/ the electric.

The tire was surprisingly soft. Maybe the hot sun beating down on it. You could feel it squish a little when your back tire hit it.

Another spot where there were some "easy" rocks. The more stuff we did, we finally decided we could do it. Though it didn't always go perfectly.

I think he messed up his approach...
