KTM Supermoto wheels kit
SOLD:
Used one time Warp9 Supermoto setup with cush hub for KTM. I bought it for my 2003 KTM 450 EXC and only took it out for a test ride on the wheels. I haven’t put it back on the bike since and I don’t think I will, honestly. I bought the kit from MotoX Industries on June 10, 2019 for $1364.00.
The kit fits 2003-2008 KTM EXC, XCF, XC, MX, and MXC bikes and will fit others with different wheel spacers.
Supermoto conversion kit with CUSH HUB
17.0 x 3.5” front wheel - black
17.0 x 4.25” rear wheel - black
Hubs - black
Spokes - silver
Nipples - silver
320mm wave rotor with adaptor bracket
45T rear sprocket, 14T front sprocket
Michelin Pilot Power tires
$1000 obo

Having a cush drive is huge on a supermoto. I'd have to look, but I'm not sure the stock DRZ400SM even comes with a cush drive.

It doesn't.
Why do you think it'd be beneficial? Asking as a guy that has never owned a bike with cush drive and hardly any time riding one.
F*** work.

Re: KTM Supermoto wheels kit
The cush drive smooths out power pulses. Those power pulses put strain on the chain. This isn't a problem on dirt because the wheel slips on the dirt, but on pavement where you have a lot of traction, if you have a large displacement thumper, it could cause premature chain wear. I'm not saying that it does, but it could.
The flip side, is it's easier to slide the rear at will if you don't have a cush drive. :)
TL;DR: necessary? No, but it's a neat feature to have if it's available, particularly on bigger displacement bikes with more HP than a DRZ400.

Re: KTM Supermoto wheels kit
It's not the chain you're worried about. It's the gearbox.

The reason it's not as big of a deal on dirt tires on pavement is the tall knobs flex and give the "cush" you want. Street tires on the street grab and would slam the chain and countershaft hard during acceleration from a stop, fast upshifts, and downshifts.

Re: KTM Supermoto wheels kit
I know KLRs have it. I would have thought DRZs did. I can't imagine a DR-650 not having it.
