That was an interesting race format. I have no idea how I finished as they were having issue with scoring. I did remember my gopro so I'll try and get some video uploaded.
There were 2 loops "tests" a grass track and a woods loop. Only a couple miles long. B/C guys ran 3 laps of each, switching back and forth (AA/A did 4 of each).
They had a little sign saying tent camping back up in the woods a bit. I was only person back there. Was nice to not have to listen to generators all night. If you look closely, you can see part of the course ribboned off on the hill in the back ground
Some bike work, a little booze, and some burgers cooking on the grill. Doesn't get much better.

Nice to have a camping spot all to yourself.
How many people showed up? Did it seem like covid kept some riders home?
Have to say I really dislike grasstracks. It may have something to do with me being so slow on them...

At least 200 racers, maybe 250. There were quite a few kids racing in the morning also.

Interesting format. So three 10-minute "woods" laps, and ... was that 6 minute video of grass track all three laps, or was that just one lap?
What did you think? Would you do it again? What did you think of the format itself, and what did you think about that particular event?
Thanks,
~Patrick

That was just one lap of the grass track. They had us do grass track, then woods, then back to grass track and so on.phoo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 9:41 am Interesting format. So three 10-minute "woods" laps, and ... was that 6 minute video of grass track all three laps, or was that just one lap?

I would have liked a little bit longer tests. It is kind of like a national/start control enduro but shorter and with no connectors since start/finish for both tests was back at the pit area.
They had an issue with folks transponders getting picked up in the first test. The main problem with that was they were basing start order for test 2 based on lap time from test 1 overall. So quicker people, like me, who didn't get picked up on scoring in the first test ended up starting test 2 at the end of the pack. Ugh. Test 3 was the same. By test 4 they broke it down by class then position in class which went much much more smoothly.
If they have more local-ish I'd probably do it again.
