Dang Mechanic's!

Post by Firebolter »

Every time I read a story related to something like this, I will never forget the day I was at the Suzuki shop in my home town as a teenager. I was friends with one of the guys that worked there. The lead mechanic and "Ace" motorcrossers of our area had just repaired an RM 250 Sukuki, took it out the back of the shop and ripped it across the adjacent empty field. As he was returning to the shop, he lifted up the front wheel and did an awesome power wheelie on the way back only to find the front brakes were nadda and he came flying up into the shop, ditched the bike right before it careened into the work bench. We all stood there in dis-belief and were torn between laughing our asses off and freaking out! :killingme: :killingme: :killingme:

But that wasn't as costly a mistake than this was!

Allstate is going to shit when they get the call but they'll repair it back to like new. No Ferrari like that is ever totaled, especially one that they only made 399 cars. The question is, will the dealership's insurance get canceled over it.

I watched an episode of Fast and Loud once where the repaired a similar crashed up Ferrari (albeit a F40 which is also rare) and it cost a grip. They had to use a certified Ferrari specialist and order parts from Italy etc. I agree with you, it will and can be repaired, but man you think your car is safe at the dealer!

I worked at Battley Cycles twenty years ago. I remember helping one of the mechanics, he had just worked on two bikes and was having me ride one as he went for a test ride. Big HD electroglide. I'm going 50ish and some dumb lady pulls out in front of me and just stops (had time to keep going but saw us and just froze) This was before HD fixed the chassis on those big bikes. I jammed on the brakes and it felt like there was a hinge in the middle of the bike. I couldn't completely stop and somehow made it around the front of her car w/out hitting her.
