Dropping the pressure in the tires and throwing a big piece of carpet remnant down under the bike made it easier but I don't think I ever got it balanced for more than 20-30 seconds at a time. I'm also told that having the engine running helps due to the gyroscopic force provided but you probably don't want that in your closed garage :) I admire anyone that can master this.
I had just broke a minute when I was practicing that last year Wes. Took this new found greatness to show Boom Boom up at his place. Afterwards he immediately showed me the next move of hopping the bike all the way around like a clock :dirtdog: Took that home and practiced for about a week to the point where it literally triggered my gout :frustrated: so I quit!
But this thread is giving me new motivation..

That pallet wheelie looks like a great idea, except seems a little taxing on the clutch eh? I think I would need a safety cord to kill engine if I loop out, so I don't lie on ground with my gonads trapped under fuel tank & pinned by the handle bars, just before the leaking fuel, poof!

If you are a FB user this is a good site one of my trials friends made. He and his wife started posting some beginner videos. Worth a watch. For all that struggle with static balance, Sally will just piss you off, you was warned.

Do not bother with FB.....go to youtube the search Yinzer Moto and you will see a bunch of stuff they posted. If you dig deep enough you will blunder across some of Jasons run down into Copper Canyon in Mexico. Just 3 guys, getting route changed by cartel closing roads...buying gas thru a chain link fence with hose and plastic cans on other side. He might still have one where they left Pittsburg in snow and rode to florida, done an event and back home all on trails and dirt roads....minimal paved roads. Good ole Yamaha 250's.... under powered but takes a pounding all day and asks for more.

That was perfect. I needed that. I was using my upper body to move my front wheel so this is going to be good practice for me to try using my knees instead when I get outside . Oh if I had that kind of room in the garage.
I cut a trail behind the house over some logs last week and waiting for this weather to break so I can go practice my double jibjabs and my jab slaps. I wish I could balance like you guys. That's about all I have room for in the garage is balance practice. Engine running or engine off, I can't do more than 5 or 10 seconds so I'll try some of that. This is good stuff Maynard.
I saw a guy get squirrely coming over a log and got out of position in a really hard section, then turned around like a clock in place to get lined up for a rock face at the tricky trialers D7 event last year and I was in awe. Someday if my knees hold out , I hope to be able to do that

Thought this was kinda cool but expensive as hell! Obviously you would necessarily use this in your garage!
Lots of cool bikes---
