Sprocket snap ring

Post by Laoch »

Or whatever you call it.

On the front sprocket (KX80)there is a clip or a snap ring that holds the small sprocket on. Is that just a generic thing or is it MC specific? The current one is a little mishaped and I'm not happy with the way it fits. It only catches about half on the groove.

BTW- the new chain is too DAMN small :wallbash:

I've learned my lesson. With a bigger chain I could have removed a link and saved time and money.

I feel yer pain.

I just lashed out the BIG BUX for a Krause chain & sprocket set for my wife's DR650, and the DAMN thing barely fits -- it really sould have been one link longer. I have to order a couple more links and a new rivet master link so I can change the tire w/o disassembling the chain guide.

I just realized I didn't answer your question:

You can probably visit McMaster Carr and order a box of 50 for what your dealer charges for one.

Check out the "DIN Snap Ring" selection, they come in metric.
