Sorry you guys could not make it.
SMCC done a nice job with the school.
They said if time allows 4 schools will be on the schedule for next year.
First half of the day you spent 15 minutes with an instructor on each challange then move to the next with a different instructor.
You had log crossing, large tire crossings, stick farm, berm and jump, rock garden, cable bridge, and most interesting was the wood pit (8" - 12" diameter wood cut 8" - 10" long all in 3 framed in sections)...that was interesting.
After lunch the instructors had a 4 lap race then we had a couple practice laps then a 3 lap race for us.
Great bunch of guys....worth every cent.
Just one more plug for SMCC, if you ever want to do a great dual sport ride, they offer a guided DS ride.
Limit of 15 riders to avoid all the state paperwork BS.
But for $50 they will put together a ride of around 80 - 100 miles, they will pick trails according to your ability and bike.
So if you have a plated enduro bike they can keep you smiling or of you have a DRZ 400 they can pick trails suited for that also. Think they feed you lunch also.
Some of the trails you will ride are on private land that they have secured with funds they collect from the events they host.
If you register with SMCC for $50 then you are allowed to ride their private trails and also have a 20% discount on all SMCC events.
Plug over...........

What he said! Good course that provided either instruction and tips on how to do a certain obstacle or critique of your ability if you are more experienced.

Funny how the log pit which was about 30 feet long, was the one that even the instructors had the most issues with.

After we were done with class portion, myself and one of the instructors were climbing up and over the cat tires, but from the side. Before that, he,I and Mike were talking and he was telling us about last year when he was jumping the tires and on the last jump, he came down wrong and broke his ankle. Now back to climbing the tires from the sides. The tires are stacked 3 abreast and buried such that the top third sticks out with dirt on all sides. Then the second row stacked same way in front, but half the height/ size of the first row of tires. Large set of tires are about 5 feet high. We're jumping up from the side and on my last time of 4 times following the instructor, I stalled the motor as my front tire was coming off and I endo'd and the bike landed on me, so I didn't participate in the little race after lunch. Sprained my right wrist.......but I am good to go....

Good class, worth the 50 bucks. Good food. Fun course. Good practice and I'll do it again just to hang with the boys.
