2011 Pine Barrens 300 Ver 2.0

Post by Ovo »

From Adv:
"It looks like we will be running a Fall version of the Pine Barrens 300 Nov 26th and 27th, 2011, Thanksgiving weekend. It's not 100% yet, but I wanted to give everyone a "heads up" before you made your holiday plans. We tried other dates, but they just didn't work out."

We are also planning a Pine Barrens Adventure Camp and Riding School on Friday Nov 23 for a limited number of riders. AKA "Sand School"

I'm waffling. I haven't tested the waters with the beloved Spousal Unit yet.

I went twice and had a lot of fun. But be warned, if you don't loved sand...

Sit back and stay on the gas! :whoop:

My only complaint about sand (at least from my experience at Sandy Lane) is if you're at the back of the pack the whoops actually get pretty viscious. :knary:

 You are absolutely correct, and all the face slappers will be knocked down by the earlier riders and the trail blown open. So that being said tighten up the suspension clickers :roost: and slid back a little for those whoops :roost: and run the top of them :whoop:

I will be doing this. Great event for anyone with a larger dual sport.

I haven't done the PineBarrens Ride since 08 or 09 but I remember there being a good amount of sand. Obviously alot of it is just a sandy dirt, but there were some sections of fireroad that were like ten inches deep of soft beach sand. It all depends how they route the trail.
I've been to NJ several times and most of the sand is pretty hard packed. At the HammerRun last year I only remember a few very short sections w/ any deep sand.
