Shade work day / Sept 18

Post by Boom Boom » Mon Sep 12, 2011 4:17 pm

Going to be at Shade Mountain sunday 18th.
Meeting at the parking area @ 9am and then break into groups and do basic trail work.
Work till noon and then catch some trail riding.
We can always use extra help in keeping the trails open.
PM me your email if you need directions or a trail map.

DAMN, I'd love to help out (and get some riding in ;) ), but I'll be going with a group to pretend to be a bunch of drunk medieval revelers (MD Renn Faire).

I just realized you said Sunday, not Saturday. I might be able to make it. Let me check with the spousal unit.

Any tools I should bring? Chainsaw, machete, axe (though I only have a splitting axe, so not all that helpful), shovel? Certainly some gloves.

I have plenty of tools.
Confirm if you are in and PM me your email address, I will get you directions.
Pending where you live, you could come to my place and ride with me.
Don't forget the bike for some play time after trail work.

Sounds like a good tradeoff, work to ride. Count me in.

Bleh, not looking good for me, after all. First day of a new year of Sunday School (my wife teaches, I help out) and the wife seems to think enriching young lives is more important than my having fun in the woods. I'll let you know if this changes.

Turns out I may actually be teaching one of the classes. I'm out. Let me know if there's another one.

Thanks,

Pray for my soul, I have been told I can use some help in that department.
When teaching the good book, make sure to slide in a little plug that riding motorcycles is a "good thing".

The Shade work day was great. We did some much needed trail clearing in the morning and then broke for lunch. The organizers provided some great food and liquid refreshments. The afternoon trail ride was challenging and fun. The bike and I took a couple of "naps" along the trail trying to keep pace with our guide, nothing but a few scratches though. Thanks to all involved, looking forward to the next time!

Ok, the bikes are parked, lets get to work!
