DUDE! thats deep!!! Maybe Phoo will join us on the C/D ride in 2013?[/quote]

That would be cool. Maybe now that he has that new orange buggy he will convert the WR into an adventure-tourer. However, after riding my WR for 5 miles on the road, there is no way I could handle 2,500 (that is why I have the Honda!)

Continental Divide. Starts at the border with Canada up in Montana and follows the continental divide down through the Rockies on dirt roads all the way to Mexico. 2013 will see us ride it for a week from Montana to Colorado; then return in a later year for the last half....

Sounds fun, but you're right that the WR sounds rather painful for such a long trip. Used DR/KLR-650s are pretty cheap. :brows:

Lucky boy. I am hoping mine is waiting for me when I get home tonight.

On another note, the dual-sport kit has been installed on the WR and I am taking it for inspection after work; wish me luck!

Good luck! I'm not going to get my new toy inspected until after next weekend. I'm waiting for my favorite shop (BBTZ Moto in Sykesville) to get their inspection certificate.

We are getting our permits at RAC in Pottsville Tuesday the 21st, if anybody wants to go we can fit a few more in the wagon.

not set in stone but probably leave B-more by 7am, or leave I-83 and Rt439 park and ride by 8am with breakfast along the way.

Got my Permit!

And the bike passed inspection; one last hurdle at the MVA and I might even have a tag by Friday. If not, at least I have the inspection out of the way so I am free to break all the new dual sport equipment off of the bike now (although the aluminum chain guard I sourced off Ebay for an R1 and held on by hose clamps will surely be missed...).
