Seeking field near 21784

Post by phoo »

My kids have a good amount of riding space in my yard and in the woods behind my house when they get to the point where they can ride up and down a hill and do little things like turn. Until then, I need to find a big field where they can ride off in a straight line and/or do gentle turns.

Does anyone have a big yard or field or know of one somewhere within a half hour of Sykesville / 21784 that I can use for a bit until the kids reach that point (or, hopefully not, decide they're done with riding)?

Currently, the throttle stop is screwed in so far it's not even possible to rip up grass, though it'll eventually be possible to cause a small divot from falling over.

Thanks,

~Patrick

I've got a place near Whites Ferry (not mine, but I have the owners permission) to ride, but you'd be my guest. My wife is learning too, has a CRF100F, and there are several acres (150+) of fields with some woody trails too. We could set up a weekend trip.

Thanks. That could be cool. It's over an hour for me, but the kids should survive the drive. I'll see about also bringing the bike to Florida at the beginning of April so they can practice on my parents' dirt road and in their yard. If they're into it, maybe they can get enough experience to be able to ride in my yard.

Thanks,

You may be suprised by the young-en's ability to adapt. My son took to it quite quickly.

Phoo,

I have some hay fields around my parents farm that you could use in the next couple of weeks. But once the hay starts growing, it would be a no-go except around the edge of the field until the hay is harvested in early June.
