Tricky Trylers / Aug 4th

Post by Boom Boom »

Just throwing out a plug for our club trials event August 4th.
The loop is a reasonable hike so easy to catch all the riding action.
Anyone interested in helping to check a section send me a PM, we can use the extra help.
Markers will be posted off RT 850 to the site (located just outside Marysville Pa / close to Harrisburg).
Anyone willing to work a section on sunday will be welcome to come ride in the sections on Saturday.
Nice camping area (no large rigs) with shower facility available.
Trials site address is 30 Brubeck Circle, Marysville Pa 17053.

I have exactly two free weekends between now and September. This falls on one of them... not making any promises, but it is on the table for consideration. :roost:

Sounds like fun, checking seems like a good way to learn and get close to the action.

But, working again

I'll be in Vegas on the 4th, but scoring a section sounds like a fun time if training is available.

Always looking for more guys to get into trials even if just to help out during an event. Would be glad to teach you the scoring basics.....very simple for the most part. It is those cranky old school farts that want to argue over "was it a stop or pause". :amazon:

Are you guys scoring with that new thing I heard about where you have to keep moving?

I don't understand why there is such a debate about that when the solution is obvious. Score like autocross -- make it a timed event where if you put your foot down, instead of adding points, you add seconds. Suddenly, people won't be stopping. As they say in autocross, "Two seconds (the penalty for each cone you knock over) is an eternity."

Just poking fun of the vintage rules.
Modern trials still allow stop.
