Riding Difference 2t vs 4t

The flickability of bike is not something that is automatically achieved with a 2t or reduced bike weight. It’s achieved by technique. Once that skill is mastered, it can be used on large 4t with more impressive results. I would argue more impressive results with the larger 4t because the low end grunt off idle. At 2:48 and 2:59 or so of vid below shows an expert rider on a 500 flicking his bike around some trees. It’s not the best illustration of my point, but is what I had. I don’t mean to lecture. Btw, everyone that I know that has a 2t for singletrack, loves them.

4 strokes are prone to flame out at the worst possible time.
4 strokes will over heat easier than a 2 stroke when in same conditions.
If doing much open road at speed a 2 stroke will either be on the pipe or off and drive you nutz and vibe your balls off.
As to weight my 4 stroke Sherco 300 actually weighed a little less than my 300 2 stroke Sherco.
The 300 4 stroke was more like and electric motor between your legs...no surprise...where you turn the throttle is what you get where the big 2 stroke will lug and pull off the bottom better (why we call them 3 strokes) but when your wake up with some clutch the go from grunt to OMG factor comes much faster than a 4 stroke that will be a far more even pull.
What you have is the ultimate cheater dual sport bike but if you don't plan to plate and do DS based rides then IMHO the 2 stroke is by far the more fun bike to own. Service is simple, rebuild not expensive and easy also. The 2 stroke I like for being quiet when you want to slip around areas and not bring attention to your self....most of todays 4 strokes carry a bark that just travels.
But number one reason to have a 2 stroke is nothing like the smell of castor bean and race gas in the morning.....LOL
Hard to pick a bad bike today....
Life is short...buy the DAMN bike.

I figured out that I needed to back off the clickers some more there. And knocked the new off my bike there.

On second thought just go out & knock it over in the driveway a few times to get it over with
