We cut/cleared some downed trees that Ive been avoiding.

Whats going on in the 2nd to last pic DaveJ? Using an alkali to dissolve out the remaining aluminum or something?
W/ the storms that hit Tues night, I went down Wed and helped a friend who had a neighbor's walnut tree fall onto his property and crushed his fence. Wouldn't have been anything special but it also crushed his two of his approx two dozen bee hives.
Got the tree cut in sections and used a sawhorse and floor jack to keep it from doing further damage. Eventually got it cut back close to the hives and could rock the trunk somewhat back into its root ball hole. That got it off the fence and hives and he could move them. The little girls didn't like the saw much and they REALLY didn't like their house being picked up and moved. I don't mind bees at all but when some of those little bitches are on your glove vibrating enough to make a grown woman moan all the while trying to sting you through it, all bets are off. I only got stung twice (though said glove and once really good on my neck.) I didn't know bees shook so much when they were pissed off. Was very hot w/ all the extra clothes on.
Drank a ton of water and still got dehydrated a bit.

Good on you for helping your friend w/ his bees.
Ive had bees. I can imagine a chainsaw would piss them off.

pool acid to dissolve aluminum piston smears, the nikasil is resistant to its nastiness
That chainsaw bar is manly. Are bees covered under insurance?

Got a deal on a retractable tonneau cover for my F150, installed it on Friday before heading to Three Springs. We have a bak flip cover on a truck at work and after using it for a few years it 1) hasn't held up the best and 2) I very much dislike having it folded up to back of the cab when open and 3) the panels must collect water because it is noticeably heavier/more difficult to fold up now. I wasn't really looking to put a cover on this truck but it was a great deal so I couldn't pass it up.
Guy threw in a nice aluminum gas tank skid plate also, will get that on there one of these days.
The rails of this cover have T-slots so you can add cross bars like a roof rack also. Will make it easier to pack the mountain bikes on long family trips with the toyhauler vs trying to find room inside the thing with the dirt bikes while having dry-ish/secure storage underneath

I think you could use a nice van
