Very nice, Bill! Let me know when you do a track day; I'd love to come join you.

Track days in the summer aren't fun. Every ~Jul we'd do the NASA VIR event, DAMN near have heat stroke (not just me, everyone), and vow not to do it ever again. We'd usually skip the next year remembering the misery. Then the third year rolls around and we'd forget and sign up again. Rinse and repeat. Racers are a stubborn bunch ;)

Filling your hat w/ ice and putting it on your head and still being miserable is no way to have fun. A/C in the trailer couldn't keep up.

The barrty went sorta-dead in the 890 this week. The prior owner had wired the Garmin Zumo XT directly to the battery. Even when you turn it off it doesn't completely turn off (unless you do a long-hold button press.) Anyway, been meaning to fix that and today was as good a time as any so it wouldn't go dead on a trip. It needs to be wired to the switched power ACC@ terminals behind the headlight.

Figured out how to take the headlight housing apart to get to the wires. Figured out how to lift the tank a little to be able to pull the little Garmin dc/dc converter box back through the path they routed it. But when I went to loosen the power terminals the negative wobbled around a bit. You can see why.

A friend had given me an old Antigravity battery last year. Not the 'restart' kind. I had to move the padding but it fit. Seems to work for now.

Stephen just in case, you do have 2 acc wires beneath the seat toward the rear. Refer to image. I was told to avoid opening up that bird nest of wires in the headlamp, hard to get back together but many have. I took the easier route and just used the switched wires beneath the seats which are the same wires in the lamp. Image

Sonny, thanks but the GPS mount that sits above the dash has a little hole to route the wire into the headlight. So I went ahead and pulled that apart to get to the switched ACC2 there. It wasn't too bad.

I was an idiot though. AFTER buttoning it all back up I realized I should have brought out a pigtail from that same ACC2 for my quadlock phone charger so I could put it on the bars.

I swapped out my brakes/pads/rotors/SS lines this weekend with a fresh set of powder coated stockers. Pretty easy job. I went a little over kill on the bleeding! I had completely bled the brakes 3-4 weeks ago when I installed new shocks and sway bar ends. Now my powder coated brakes came in so I installed them in the order of bleed and bled all 4 corners manually. Then I used my Scanner and did a ABS bleed to cycle the pump and completely flush the entire system. Now I have a 21 year old car with everything "braking" brand new except the hard lines. Took the car out and bed them in-easy peasy! Now they bite nice and feel great. Now I just need to get my new 3.42 rear diff in!

Nice! I put on the Jeep TJ a new alternator, s-belt, idler and tensioner. I was stunned that I didn't have to fight it as they were the originals.

Rear wheel on the new to me Sherco was touching the swingarm/kickstand

A few minutes with a spoke wrench got the clearance back.

Nice, that's quite a bit you had to pull it back! I went over my spokes on my 18 300 recently, only 2-3 were a tiny bit loose but the wheels are still in a nice true after 80 hours.
