Trailwork

I had the morning free today so I was up at my Emmitsburg spot doing some scouting and trailwork. I ended up not even pulling my bike out of the van.

Loaded up the buggy w/ loppers, saw, ribbon, dog etc...

I cleared things out around this fallen tree. Been meaning to do that for a while. Should be a nice log hop practice area.

I mostly worked on this new area. Its sort of a ridge that is flattish on top. Getting up on top is easy. There is an old skidder trail (or something). My plan is to make an easy “figure8” trail on top. Easy enough for noobs, kids, and dualsport bikes. Hopefully get a few guys to help run 8-10 laps on it and burn it in good.

I have one half of the figure8 cut and marked with ribbon. I might need help with the other half. A bit more cutting involved.

Then StageTwo will be to put in other lines or small loops off the figure8. These will be more difficult sections. Definitely some hillclimbs and other tricky spots w/ the slope and offcamber.

The last area I looked at is going to be more of a trials/hard enduro section.

I thought it would be cool to clear all the downed trees from this section of small creek.

Some spots are easyish. And others looks pretty hard. Im sure some of Mike’s skilled trials guys could ride it no sweat.

Definitely some work involved for this creek project.

I have weekends off in May/June. I know many weekends are full already. But I hope I can make a ride/work day for some guys to come out.

I'd be up for trail work and enduro (non-trials) practice some weekend. Keep us posted with potential dates!

Ill try to get some weekend dates up when most people are free and can come. Might not be till end of May or early June.
In meantime, I might be going out there on Fridays.
