I'm looking for a better than stock shock for my XL600r I'm building. How long is the DR shock eye to eye? Are these shocks rebuildable? Can heavier springs be obtained? I'd like to claim dibs on the shock if it meets my needs.

440 mm center of eye to center of eye. Should be rebuildable, and heavier springs are available.

Bummer. I dont think I can alter enough to make work. My stock length is about 375mm, eye to eye. :frustrated:
Having the twin carbs, the remote reservoir is a must. I have a later model XR shock but body wont fit with the casted all in one body with reservoir. Thanks for measuring. If no one takes it, & your going to toss it, please let me know and I'll get it to futz with.
