Wes, just received the tracks from Brian in that ( YouTube loop) . Will forward it to you via email.

Thanks Sonny! I sent him an email asking him to estimate how much of the loop is paved vs unpaved.

Heard back from him saying it's about 50-50 for the 170 mile loop. No bad. That's not too far off the ratio for the MABDR.
170 mile loop? Nice. 60 miles to get to the loop. sounds about right, it’s typically a 300 mile day to run upper Michaux and back home.

Firebolter wrote:That's looks like one of the the water crossing up by the watershed. lots of good stuff up there but have to be careful, some of the trails you will come across in and around the watershed area are MTB only.

I was looking at the street names and alot of what they are riding in the beginning is stuff in between I70 and US15 south of Frederick in the Urbana area. That creek is Butterfly Branch-

That part where he rides past the jet in the guys yard? I remember that!

Thanks Bill, I emailed a gpx track to you to see if you’ve done it, different from the video. Starts at Frederick thru catoctin and lower Michaux heading east on 30 to Gettysburg and back home. A fellow member was kind enough to give me a heads up on some gates being back up on Frederick watershed portions. Appreciate your thoughts on it. This is the one we are trying to run this weekend.

I just looked at it. That is a fun route up through Michaux, you guys will enjoy it. John and I rode parts of this a couple of months ago when we rode Michaux. You should be fine just be ready for some gates to be possibly closed and you'll have to route around. I wish I was here this weekend, I would go with you guys but I am headed down to Lynchburg to meet up with my buddies from my first ship for a little reunion thing-

Sounds good thanks. When I first met Bucho and John F, he took us through south Michaux but can’t remember a route if my life depended on it
As for Catoctin I believe Angie and I was cruising up 15 in my 2dr Jeep with the top down, on a boiling day so we detoured to find shade in there. That’s the extent of it, looking forward to the route

Yeah, you guys will dig it. Maybe next time we go play around in Urbana on some of that stuff in the video. There are plenty of dirt roads up in that area. Ya'll have fun and be safe!

Sonny and I both put just over 300 miles on our bikes yesterday following some ADV route. Highlight for me was the Frederick watershed part and Catoctin back roads. I’m up for the Boyers Loop route next or BDRX route. Looking forward to it

Thanks again John, looking forward to the next one. Feeling confident about the bike running well now. Pulled up exactly at 8pm. Good call on the Black Hog, food/beverage made the 80 mile ride home more pleasant. Kick ass back roads in Frederick, modest homes but with million dollar views. I need to get my priorities straight lol.
Zumo XT adventure mode option is a game changer. I must of driven up 15 gazillion times and was never aware of those back roads.

I went out just for a short ride. But I probably did some of the same roads.

Nice back drop Phil, looks like you have options.

Anybody doing any riding sept. 2 Friday? Before Labor Day weekend. I’d like to tag along if so. Projecting a sickness, brown bottle flu as they say the night before. Image
I found a 60 mile loop up in the Aberdeen area, supposedly crossing a few shallow streams.
