Bought a dinosaur

Post by Laoch »

As a direct result of boredom and looking forward to riding again; I went ahead and filled an empty slot in my garage with a bike the I've wanted to get for a while. Mostly Phil's fault. I remember him riding the piss out of his DR. It fits nicely between my 250 and GS.
Local guy. He had already done almost everything that's needed.
Super clean and low mileage.

I still have very fond memories of my DR. Hard to go wrong with one.

Congratulations. I saw that ad and thought it looked great, but I'm out of garage room. Enjoy.

Nice one-they will live forever. I had a DR350 back in the 90's, it was a tank and ran forever-
Lots of cool bikes---

Great choice.

I've got a factory gel seat for you if you wanted to ditch that commuter seat.

Thanks. I've never used a "commuter" seat so I don't know how comfortable it is. I'm not sure I like the shape for DS riding.

From pictures I've seen, it always seemed a bit wide for anything off road... but I've never actually tried one. I did have a corbin for a minute but that interfered too much so I assumed this would be the same.

I really liked my stock seat for DSing but it sucks big time for "long" stints on the highway. Long for a dr with a stock seat on the highway was about 1 hr (your GS right now :poser:) anything longer was actually painful.

Anyways it's free to tryout/ keep whenever your hand is better.
