Tuk for muktuk

A thing on my bucket list since 2017 has been to ride up and camp on the shore of the Arctic Ocean in Tuktoyaktuk. Before 2017 they only way to get there was on an ice road in the winter (or fly in). Canada undertook a major construction effort to extend the Dempster Highway up beyond Inuvik making it possible to ride to Tuk in the summer.
New tires and fresh oil change done and I'm leaving this coming week to ride out to Iowa to meet up with a friend from Georgia. The first phase of this adventure is to make our way to Calgary where we have a storage place rented for a month. I'll fly back home for obligatory summer vacationing and family reunion fun and return to Calgary in late July where we'll start phase 2 for the 5,000 mi round trip up to Tuktoyaktuk. We're not sure yet what route we'll take back south but could end up just leaving the bikes in Calgary again and flying home in early August. If we do that there will be a phase 3 in September, maybe just to ride the bikes back home but that'll be a September decision.
Anywho, that's the plan but it's not called an adventure for no reason. Stay tuned for updates here.
